A remarkable edition of the Classicissima for the team Neri Sottoli – Selle Italia – KTM that has placed two riders in the early breakaway.
Luca Raggio and Sebastian Schonberger were both able to join the action after 6 kms together with Masnada, Maestri, Tonelli, Sagiv, Henttala, Peron, Planet e Poli, with the maximum gap reached before the ascent to Turchino.
The high pace from the peloton didn’t let our riders down with Schonberger who has tried a solo attack on Capo Berta before being caught by Masnada and by the rest of the peloton at the bottom of Cipressa after 260 kms shared in front together with his team mate and home rider Luca Raggio.
In the final Simone Velasco and Umberto Marengo were our most active riders with the bolognese who climbed the Poggio in the second group that has missed the junction with the group of the favourites where Julian Alaphilippe was the strongest rider.
The 31st place is the best result in a monument classic that confirms his growth in this season.
